Teen Vogue And Shiseido last Saturday. A BIG thanks to  the Teen Vogue And Shiseido team for having me!

The Hidden Memories – Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2013

Marcus Kan of Draw A Dot. and I decided to work on a collaboration project together. In this series, Marcus and I are going to pick some of the best F/W 2013 accessories and create scenes based on the vibe of each collection. 

"For the first illustration, we have picked the famous crown and the necklace from the Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2013 collection. The 2 accessory pieces have turned into a beautiful frame and captured the moment when the Dolce & Gabbana girl is playing with her favourite pets – the leopards. I find this illustration to be very stunning and it really captures the regalness of the lady. Also, I can see that Sunny‘s illustration skill has once again evolved as her composition skill has really blown me away with this piece."--Marcus

"This illustration was inspired by Dolce & Gabbana RTW F/W 2013 collection. I especially love this season’s outfits and they are meant to fit for a queen (a Byzantine empress). Every Dolce & Gabbana girl looks very confident, majestic, and empowered. In this piece, I wanted to portray the girl as the queen of her world.  I painted a pair of leopards to accompany her because they are very mysterious and fascinating animals. Leopards have held the court with kings and queens in myth, legend, art and literature from ancient times to this day. They feel like the perfect companions for the Dolce & Gabbana queen. I also wish to highlight the golden crowns, beautiful accessories, meticulously crafted dress that made out of mosaic beadings and crystal gems."--Sunny

Shiseido & Teen Vogue LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER event!

I will be live painting beauty illustrations at the SHISEIDO and Teen Vogue LIKE MOTHER,

 LIKE DAUGHTER event this Saturday, November 16th, 2-4 P.M. 

Teen Vogue's Beauty & Health Director Elaine Welteroth will be sharing her best kept
 beauty secrets passed down from her mother.(Elaine and her mother are illustrated on the right:))

I feel honored to have the opportunity live-painting for Teen VOGUE, it's always an inspiring
 magazine that I love to spend some quality time reading. 

Fun coincidence: as for Shiseido, my mom has always been a loyal customer, so do I.
It's a true bliss to working with a brand that you always loved and trusted. 

I'm looking forward to live-painting on site for this special event!

We have made a few versions for the event invite, this one was not the final version. 

But I still like it! Thought to share it with you too! 

It's a little cliché but still sweeeeet.

And here's one of the outtakes. 

In the beginning we were going to go with the portrait direction instead of full body 
illustration for this project. We ended up making full body illustrations of the beauty director
 and her mother. 

I love how the final invite turned out, but the process is always equally precious~! 

I'm looking forward to live-painting on site for this special event!

Today's illustration was inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2013 Couture collection.  The theme for this season was big cats--lionesses, tigresses, cougars. I love the spotted wildcat motif being cleverly incorporated into the outfit design, accessories, hairstyle and makeup!

Currently working on a commission. Didn't get a chance to do Wed Illustration this week, but I still want to say hello here. 

I just received the August Issue of Milwaukee Magazine (http://www.milwaukeemag.com) in the mail. It's an informative, literate and entertaining magazine provides useful services and thoughtful stories to Milwaukeeans. In this issue, I had the pleasure to illustrate the Insider Style column. The girl is wearing products made by Milwaukee's local stores.

The sunflowers I planted in the backyard are blooming! Isn’t summer always better with bright sunflowers?
