I had so much fun live-drawing the stylish guests at InStyle & Macy's Emme Event! The event took place at Macy's Union Square in San Francisco. VIP guests were invited to watch fall winter fashion trend runway show presented by plus size supermodel Emme. Guests had fun shopping right off the runway with Macy's personal stylists, and get custom fashion portraits drawn by me.

Today's illustration was inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2013 Couture collection.  The theme for this season was big cats--lionesses, tigresses, cougars. I love the spotted wildcat motif being cleverly incorporated into the outfit design, accessories, hairstyle and makeup!

WEDNESDAY ILLUSTRATION: JUST CAVALLI

Today's illustration was inspired by Just Cavalli Resort 2014 collection. 

This season, Roberto Cavalli fused bucolic florals with Japanese art motifs and animal prints. He used a very soft color palette and loose, relaxed silhouettes. Everything looks so light and refreshing!

DREAM OF GOLDFISH

While I was painting the Christian Dior Resort 2014 inspired illustration, I was mesmerized by these colorful floaty dresses. 

I keep imagining the girls being surrounded by fancy goldfish, like this...

CHRISTIAN DIOR RESORT 2014

Today's collection was inspired by Christian Dior Resort 2014 collection. 
The color scheme for this collection is quite lovely, black and white, a few shades of creams and the primary colors. For this season, Raf Simons followed the conventional Dior tropes--flowers, lace, and rounded sihouette; added his signature touch while showing ultimate respect for tradition.  Simons included some asymmetry, dynamism and multiple zips in each design, it's "A symbol of sport and dynamism," he said.

El esquema de colores para esta colección es super bonito, blanco y negro, con tonalidades de cremas son los colores primarios. FOXY LADY

Today's illustration was inspired by Jean-Charles De Castelbajac Fall 2013 RTW collection. 

For me, this collection is a love at first sight!  As always, his collection is a running commentary about his world view, fashion. “Our world is at the cusp of something, like in the days of the pre-Raphaelites when the train was being invented. Poetry has become obsolete, but I want it to be a weapon.”The theme for this collection is Foxy Lady. "His 'Foxy Lady' is a redheaded firebrand who spearheads this revolution of words. The poetry of her gestures is an act of rebellion, like her coral slicked upper lip, the bottom half remaining nude."--NowfashionIt's a very whimsical and utterly wearable collection. It consists of a series of cozy blanket coats, plaid blanket separates, printed separates and dresses inspired by pre-Raphaelite art.

WEDNESDAY ILLUSTRATION: ALICE + OLIVIA FALL 2013 RTW

Today's illustration was inspired by Alice + Olivia Fall 2013 RTW collection. This season, Stacey Bendet presented us a lovely mix of rich textures, print, and tones; from boiled wools, popcorn knits with embedded pearls, bonded-leather knit jackets, embroidered leather pants, to floral dresses and fancy evening gowns. The designer described her inspiration as “fantasy street style, starting on the streets of Paris with girls in really cool daytime layered looks filled with the unexpected.” --fashionista.com
It's a very free spirited, feminine, fantastical, and fashionable collection!

Today's illustration was inspired by Alexis Mabille Spring 2013 couture collection. 

"Alexis Mabille recently made an official member of the haute couture club. Before his show tonight, he said he set out to impress the Federation with his technique. "In the past, I focused on structure," he said. "Here I concentrated on the craftsmanship—what we can do for the client." His attentions paid off. This was a finer outing than usual."--style.com

It was a girly, sweet, rosy-colored show, filled with ruffles and lace in cotton candy colors!
