Happy Valentine's Day! 

Background story:

This one is a little different than my usual fashion illustrations. This is one of the illustrations commissioned by JeZa Photography featuring their lovely clients. Jeremy and Zabrina are international award winning destination wedding & portrait photographers, they always capture the lovers in their most precious moments! I have been working with JeZa since last year, it's a super sweet ongoing collaboration.

For every collaboration, after sending the client's favorite picture, Zabrina would tell me about the lovely couple and the romantic history of the scenery. Every single illustration is a love story. It feels very personal and the couples' love is so contagious, you can see and feel it from the lovers' glance.

It's been a true bliss working with JeZa! The happiness and heartwarming feelings I get from the collaborations are beyond words...

Today's illustration was inspired by Monique Lhuillier Fall 2013 RTW collection.
"This season, Lhuillier found inspiration in a piece of malachite. The gemstone's deep green striations appeared at the end of the runway as the show opened with a series of winter white looks. 'It's kind of like stepping into heaven a little bit,' said Lhuillier."--style.com
My favorites of this collection are the stunning lace gowns, each design was so beautifully designed and artfully decorated in sequins and Baroque beading.

It's interesting, I never thought I would make this painting a Valentine's Day special.:)

At the beginning, I was going to paint more lacewings here and there, but when I looked at the two lacewings in the bloom, I realized, maybe, two is just perfect.

I searched the flower meaning of Lupin a couple days ago, to me, its meaning characterizes "Love" pretty well. Lupin means "Voraciousness; admiration, imagination". Love will be very different if it's without any of these.
